Gencor is a farmer-directed artificial insemination cooperative in Guelph, Ontario with 80+ mobile workers meeting with over 12,000 cattlemen a year. FingertipWare's mobile solution integrates Gencor's existing SUN/Oracle applications with handheld Windows Mobile devices to provide its mobile workforce with offline and real-time database access from any location.
Work orders from dispatch and updates from the field can now be dispatched electronically to eliminate paper-based, labor-intensive manual processes. Sales representatives can access up to the minute inventory and pricing information, as well as submit orders. Printed receipts are generated by Bluetooth connected Printek printers. All data communications between the mobile workforce and back office systems is provided through FingertipWare's hosted servers, database synchronization and web services infrastructure. No infrastructure investments in staff or additional systems were required.
